Was this a fresh install of XP using the full version or did you upgrade Win9x/ME/2K to XP? If you performed an upgrade install were any Norton programs installed on the old OS such as Norton Clean Sweep? More information about your setup would help to diagnose the problem.

If you believe it may be malware related do the following.

Download and install the newest HijackThis.

TrendMicro HijackThis ver. 2.0.2

Read these directions.

Copy the generated log file then paste it in the following section of the forums.
