Matt
I'm looking into buying a new laptop soon (not just yet, but soon) and I wanted some comments/suggestions on a system I've put together from Lenovo. I don't game, and I'll probably put Ubuntu on it.See attachment
jcl
That's nearly identical to the T61 I spec'ed out last week before deciding that the slightly off-center screen would drive me nuts.
shanenin
Wow. i did not notice that. why would they do something so crazyedit added//from a quick search, it seems to be designed that way for the antenna. Even so that seems not necessaryhttp://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/message...;thread.id=1718
hitest
Looks nice, Matt:-) I'm paranoid about printers and Linux. Is that Lexmark unit Linux compliant?

TheTerrorist_75
One of the guys at WindowsBBS has a T60 and was setting up a T61 for a friend. He stated that the T60 was a better laptop. He was disappointed with the T61.
Honda_Boy
Certainly looks better than mine. I always wind up with $400 laptops. My dad said when I leave for a University (if I leave for one, I'm gettin a 2-year at the college I'm at right now), he'd get me higher end $1500-2000 laptop (I'm probably gettin an Alienware). For now I'm stuck with a Compaq Presario C500 (Celeron 440, upgraded to 1.5GB of RAM, 80GB HDD, Vista Basic, Intel 945G graphics).I think it looks alright but I bet that off center screen would drive me insane. shanenin
I personally can't see spending so much an something that will depreciate so much. what can a $1600 laptop do much better then a good $600 one. Besides depreciation, I would be worried it would get stolen or dropped. Did I read it comes standard with a 3 year warranty, without that I would not even considerer anything so expensive.
