It's located under the View in the menu bar. If you don't have the menu bar enabled, click on the Tools tab and select it.

The refresh button is also located to the RIGHT of the address bar: See the DOWN arrow for expanding the addresses in the address bar? Its the button that is 2 GREEN arrows that is to the right of that - if you see the red "X" that is the STOP button :)

Good Luck Marty ;)

Sure, if you want to do it the easy way.

I should have caught that but I use Firefox 95% of the time

The bbcode is probably wrong but here goes

Customizing IE7

This thread has a lot of good advice so I will copy some over here since this is a new clean one to use

http://forums.g4tv.com/messageview.cfm?cat...VAR_MSGDBTABLE=

These are not "My" fixes, but are gathered from those supplied by others

I want the "menu bar" (with file, edit, view, etc.) above my window where I have what site I am at (the bar that is next to the forward and back buttons). IS there anyway to do this?

Copy what is in the quote into notepad.

Click file / save as

Name it "IE7Regmerge.reg" with the quotes and All files as the file type and desktop as location

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]

"ITBar7Position"=dword:00000001

It will make a registry merge file with the funny blocks icon.

Double click it, and it will add the value needed

Now launch IE7 and it will be as you wish it to be.

I couldn't install IE7.

When I was prompted to validate my copy of Windows, I had to stop.

Yes, it is for persons with valid windows licenses only.

Has some useful answers to FAQ

Open ie7 and then hit ALT on your keyboard.

On mine that toggles what is shown on the status bar, on some it toggles the menu bar. It all depends on what tweaks you have performed.

i was finally able to install IE7.

i have to say, the look to IE7... it's like a little faded, grainy.

does that make sense?

anyone else having that problem?

tools>internet options>advanced>multimedia>Always use ClearType for HTML (uncheck)

i googled "grainy ie7" and found that others were having the same problem as i was/am.

like a faint look to their screen.

anyway, i unchecked "Always use ClearType for HTML"

and the view got better.

As Bill says

copy and paste this quote into notepad

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Infodelivery\Restrictions]

"NoSearchBox"=dword:00000001

Choose file / save as

"RemoveSearch.reg"

with the quotes and all files as type and desktop as location.

Make sure IE is closed and double click to merge.

Then launch IE and delete the fix.

You can restore it by deleting the entry or just put a minus in front of the [ and rerunning it.

Has many more tweaks

When I'm on a website and open a new window, ie Google, before I can type anything my original page pops up and I have to close it or click on the Google tab at the bottom of the screen to open up the Google page. Is there a way to stop this please.

Tools, Internet Options, General Tab, Tab Settings?

There is a checkbox for "Always switch to new tabs when they are created", is that enabled?

i just downloaded the new IE7 & can't find my check mail icon that used to be in in my old IE browser bar.

right-click on the browser bar in the blank area and select customize toolbar, and select the icon that way.

I just downloaded IE 7.0 but now am having trouble with the auto fill button its not highlighted as in the past and suggestions?

you may want to add one of these approved add ons to IE7 (tools/ add ons)

http://www.ieaddons.com/default.aspx?cid=home&scid=0

Also IE7Pro add on is worth considering

geez pete you must be a democrat

you have all the answers

Ahh, my secret is out.

Actually at one time I was a die hard, straight ticket Republican.

However I have issues with any political party being controlled by any special interest group and having a preset "agenda".

The only agenda I think any American political party has any business embracing is

1. To support and defend The Constitution of The United States of America.

2. To attempt to do what is best for the Nation but under no circumstances to intentionally take a path which is not in The Nations best interest.

3. To attempt to do what is best for the Citizens of this nation, and under no circumstances intentionally do anything which will be detrimental to the general populace.
