Stealth Windows Update Prevents Xp Repair

Recommended Posts

Due to a July update if someone performs a repair install they will have problems installing 80 of the latest patches. There is a .bat/.cmd file you can create to register required files for the updates to install successfully.

regsvr32 /s wuapi.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 /s wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 /s wucltui.dll
regsvr32 /s wups2.dll
regsvr32 /s wups.dll
regsvr32 /s wuweb.dll

Well, that downright stinks!!! Daughter's "Pet" (almost boyfriend) recently reinstalled Windows on her idiotbox (yessss, I have a GEEK on hand here, well, at least at her College, God Bless him!). I'll have to ask him if it was a repair install or not.

This quirk doesn't pertain to a total reinstall, right??

Even though I'm grumbling, thanks, Terrorist!

This only effects a repair install. A fresh install wouldn't contain the updated files.
