deaf_girl
Someone showed me this article yesterday and was wondering if anyone had tried it. It's to install Ubuntu with Windows in 3 easy stepshttp://news.softpedia.com/news/Install-Ubu...-CD-61304.shtml Edited July 31, 2007 by deaf_girl
garmanma
Interesting, I might try that with a unit that only has one hard drive. I've done 3 installations so far and they've all been painless without any problems, other than understanding the different terms used. Which I'm getting better atMark
intocomputing2
Does that mean that we can uninstall linux from our windows machine anytime we want, and it would be like we never installed it thanks to wubi?If that's the case sign me in, I'd like a foolproof way to try ubuntu

iccaros
I see the downside of this.. Since it installs as a file not a partition, Which sorry to say, used to be Computers 101 if your windows partition fails you loose windows and Linux, also it will be slower than a partition as you are using a file that the OS handles writes and not a partition the Drive handles. your file can become fragmented making it much slower, while a Linux partition using modern File systems do not fragment as much as NTFS and even if it did the entire partition would not fragment unlike the file.
