flashh4
hey ten, yes cause i only have a 95 disk & the recovery disk that came with my computer, with ME installed. so i did an upgrade to xp home edition.then i had a lot of problemswith some things after the up grade, so i did a parallel install & now programs are working great. so what i was thinking was to delete the old systems (ME & the first install of xp home) so i will have more hard drive space...any help ???? thanks & STAY SAFE
tenmm
I was worried about that.I feel you would be better to start with a clean slate. You can format the drive and install XP without installing ME,if you have a key code for it.Do you have the key code for you OS(ME)??Are there two partitions on the hard drive?? What brand of PC is this??Read this.

mikex
The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is a freeware utility that retrieves your Product Key (cd key) used to install windows from your registry. It has the options to copy the key to clipboard, save it to a text file, or print it for safekeeping. It works on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Office 97, and Office XP. This version is a quick update to make it work with Windows Server 2003. Can't miss that link. LOLM

STAY SAFE FRIEND If I were you and all else falls, I would just use the 95 cd, format your drive, install 95, then as soon as it is installed, install xp. If you do that then you should be alright, and have pretty much a clean slate.

tenmm
Yes, IMHO a format and reinstall is the better way to go(easyer)Win98/98se install.(allso win 95)WinME install.Use which ever OS you have your COA for,As this is a H.P. look on the inside of the side panels for your tower, some H.P.'s have the COA glued to the panels. And you might think about printing out the guide for the O/S you use.
