Looks like spam to me as well, Joe. I removed that post. Thanks for the heads-up:)

  2. Yet another blonde joke.

A blind man and his guide dog enter a bar and find their way to a bar stool.

After ordering a drink, and sitting there for a while, the blind guy yells to the bartender, "Hey, you wanna hear a blonde joke?"

The bar immediately becomes absolutely quiet.

In a husky, deep voice, the woman next to him says, "Before you tell that joke, you should know something, the bartender is blonde, the bouncer is blonde, and I'm a 6' tall, 200 lb. blonde with a black belt in karate.

What's more, the woman sitting next to me is blonde and she's a weight lifter. The lady to your right is a blonde, and she's a wrestler. Think about it seriously, Mister. You still wanna tell that joke?"

The blind guy says, "Nah, not if I'm gonna have to explain it five times."

  3. http://www.webmd.com/ = "Antioxidants and Your Immune System: Super Foods for Optimal Health. One of the best ways to keep your immune system strong and prevent colds and flu might surprise you: Shop your supermarket’s produce aisle. Experts say a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help you ward off infections like colds and flu. That’s because these super foods contain immune-boosting antioxidants. ......................................."

I've started eating lots of fruits and vegetables in the last three months. I've managed to avoid infection so far.

  4. I had the swine flu vaccine in '76. It almost killed me. Not sure what to do this time around. I'll ask the MD.

I can understand your hesitation given your past experience. I haven't heard of any catastrophic side effects up here in Canada with the H1N1 vaccine. I think it is safe.

  5. My niece, her husband and all three kids came down with it. I ordered them to stay clear of me seeing as the H1N1 shot wasn't widely available here and with my medical issues it would not have gone well if I caught it. They had a miserable couple of weeks as it passed from one to the other, but the storm was weathered and they are now fine. My niece is against vaccinations, believing that they cause autism. No matter how much data I sent her disproving that theory she remains steadfast in her belief.

    Hi TT_75,

Good to hear your niece's family has weathered the storm as well!

H1N1 is miserable indeed. My 15 year old is out of the woods methinks. So far no one else in my family has caught it........yet. If I've learned anything from this experience it is do not wait to administer tamiflu if you suspect that your loved ones have H1N1. The malady progresses very rapidly.

  6. Hi Pat, and marty:) Thanks, my friends for your well wishes, prayers. Laura is getting better, the Tamiflu is working. Her appetite is still weak, but, she's on the mend. I'm watching my family now for symptoms. So far so good. :)

I am glad that things are going well for your family, my friend. I wish you all the best.

Thanks, buddy:) I appreciate that. :)

  8. slayer1927,

Good to hear you sorted stuff out.

I agree with iccaros, running df -h will give you an idea how much room you have on your hard drive for Ubuntu. df -h will show you how your hard drive is divided up into partitions. Then you can see how much space you have for saving media files, data, documents, etc.

    Click on------>Terminal

Inside the terminal prompt you can type in the command df -h and look at your HD layout.

  9. Ohhhboy, Hitest! Hope Laura heals quickly, hope little Sis is spared and you and Mrs take care of yourselves, too! One of the kids' friends had H1N1 (she's a schoolteacher!) and she said the fatique is miserable.

Thoughts and Prayers going out your way

    Liz

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, Liz! :) I appreciate that a lot. Thank goodness for research and development. Tamiflu is working. Yes. The fatigue is miserable indeed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, hopefully the virus passes the rest of us by.

  10. Thank you, my friends:) I appreciate this a lot. I've calmed down a lot. Laura is sleeping soundly now; she had chest pains, muscle aches, and vomiting during the night. I suspect the tamilflu is kicking in.

OMG hitest, I'm sorry to hear about Laura being sick. I hope she gets well very soon. Will say a prayer for your daughter.

Keep us updated, as I'm sure you will. Take care my friend.

Hi Barb, Thank you for your prayers, my friend!

The Tamiflu works very quickly, thank goodness. Laura is taking two pills per day for the next five days. Laura's extreme symptoms (chest pain, fever, vomiting, coughing) are fading. Laura is very tired. I'm taking the day off from work tomorrow to watch Laura. My wife will watch her on Tuesday. I know now what to watch for. I'll rush my 6 year old to the ER for a dose of Tamiflu at the first hint of symptoms.

  11. Thank you, my friends:) I appreciate this a lot. I've calmed down a lot. Laura is sleeping soundly now; she had chest pains, muscle aches, and vomiting during the night. I suspect the tamilflu is kicking in.

  12. Unless she has underlying medical conditions, she should be OK. Everyone who's had trouble, so far, was a result of an underlying medical condition. Get better!!!

Yeah....I know she'll probably be okay. It is just tough to watch her be so ill. Four more hours and then I can get her prescription.

    Thanks man! :)

  13. Scary stuff.....I took my 15 year old daughter to the hospital an hour ago; she has classic, escalating H1N1 symptoms. She's had her first dose of tamilflu, I'll be getting her prescription for more anti-virals at 11:00 am. We're keeping her isolated from our 6 year old.

    I'm frightened.
