Usually these are easy,
A man came into the shop with some top of the line custom built PC and said he cant see the video.
(when i say top of the line i mean top of the line circa 2007)
Hes got a BFG 7900 GS OC ( pretty sweet eh? lolz)
Everything else is customed out the lights etc....so the easy fix to see if its the video card: Remove the card plug into onboard video and see if anything comes up...but the thing is...nothing did. Still just a blank screen. now that increases the chances that it is something else. Could it be the motherboard? It must be right?
Bad ram? i could test it but i want that to be my last option since the custom box that its in is like IMPOSSIBLE to get it so i want to deal with that headache later. anyway...what you guys think?

Hi guys! Wow, its been a LONG LONG time since i have been here and i am going to have to say that i am impressed with the way the BT community has grown, love the new site layout. I remember when it was just a simple forum. Great job BT team!
But alas, i now call on you guys for a little help. I thought that i could tackle this problem myself but soon realized it is over my head..well..kind of.
A long time ago i installed some program called ReadyDriverPlus!, after the install i booted up my windows vista on my desktop and realized my mouse and keyboard did not work. Strange..so i got my old PS2 keyboard and booted without the ready driver, then uninstalled the program via control panel. Then i booted up and got to my desktop and realized that a lot of my drivers got wiped from my system. Most notable my Network Adapters. My Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapter along with my nForce Netwoorking Controllers and Teredo Tunneling interface and WAN miniports all have the dreaded yellow exclamation point next to them in the Device Manager. ASWELL as my Universal Serial Bus controllers, and also my sound.
Now the problem here is that this is one of my custom built PCs so i got the NVIDIA Drivers and Utilities ( Version RT3.01B-N4) CD from storage ( i always knew i could keep this stuff!) But when i put the disc in and clicked for it to scan what i had installed, it said that everything was ok and the only options for install that it gave me was for RAID ( it did this because it was the only thing it showed for me not having installed). So alas, i am at a loss here. Just not too sure what i can do. I planned on prepping this computer for Windows 7. But here are my questions:
Should i just wipe the computer clean and install the Windows 7 install disc and go fresh? Or would the same problems occur with it not being able to read those devices. The problem being is that my PCI Wireless card is my only means of internet access and i have no Ethernet cable accessable to me and even if i did, the same problem would occur with windows not recognizing my nForce adapters.
Could i just download the drivers from a website and put them on to my computer and install them? only problem being that the USB controllers are not working so i can not use that as a means of transferring the required drivers.
A side note, i did reinstall the drivers for my Realtek High Def Audio and it still had the dreaded yellow ! and said there were no device drivers installed when trying to to a test playback..
So whats my play here? Whats the best thing to do or what can i do? Is there anymore information you need from me to give to you to help me though this situation? Let me know and i hope you guys can shed some light on this strange occurrence. Thanks!

Ok i have these files, and i need to extract them to make them useable. What do i do? i do have a DVD burner, UltraISO,PowerISO, and Alcohol 120%...could some one tell me exactally what to do? thanks guys.
-
ok also...i only have a 120 GB harddrive....but it says that my documents takes up 1452.6 GB of space....how is this possible? im confused.
-
i recently got DiskView because i found it bizairre that my harddrive only had 20 gb left...so i did a scan and it seems that "C:\documents and settings\{my name}" is huge....like over 80 gb used up...and i dont know how. after i had to do a system recovey a few times the names just got carried over and all so idk ...they only reason i am saying this is because when i try to do into my name (old from previous recovery) then mydocuments (which is the largest) it sas "access denied"...so like now i dont know how to gte into it. and i really need to to see whats taking up so much space. any ideas?
-
*FIXED*
guess who forgot to install SP2 after the reformat? this guy
-
i reformatted about 2 weeks ago...and the first game i installed wit COD 2. when i installed it and tried to run it i got the message "this programs has encountered an error and needs to close" so then...i got oblivion and installed that and when i triedto run it i got the same message....i dont know whats wrong. and when i go to run>dxdiag it says i have directx version 9.0a when i have installed the lastest many of times and it says it installs....any ideas?
*FIXED*
oblivion looks amazing.
-
i did a system recovery and delted all the unwanted files and aslo got Mcaffe suite 2006 and have that, also ewido and adware and SB:S&D all of the files are gone and my comp is running fine.
-
if i do a systm recovery...is there a chance these virus's will come back?
-

Please refrain from using that language in these forums. You will need to wait for one of the HJT experts to help you with NewDotNet. -TT_75-

*update*
out of curiousity and as a test, i took my game and began to install it on a friends computer to see if it was just me, and it is. he got throught all of the discs with 98% left until we cancelled just to make sure. so what on my computer makes it not want to install? perhaps a update of somesort, know that we know its just my computer we can dilude the possible solutions non?
Backup & reload, that's the simplest and most annoying way to fix 95% of problems
like reformat? no way, ive already done that 3 times in the past 2 months

Possible to Connect 2 external HDDs?
in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP
Posted
Heres a little quick theoretical question: This might get confusing but try and follow
I have 2 1TB external drives. Each external drive has a USB and an eSATA port. Now my new Dell XPS has 4 USB 3.0 slots and a USB2.0/eSATA combo port. I am trying to copy large amounts of data from one drive to the other. What I started to do was plug one external HDD in via eSATA and the other in USB 3.0( at 2.0 speeds however) and copy. But what happened is that i copied at USB speeds because one drive was eSATA and the other was USB.
Now my question is this: Is it possible for me to plug the 2 drives in together via eSATA directly...and initiate the copy from my PC? because since they both have eSATA AND USB i could plug eSATA directly too each of the drives, and then each USB in my computer. If i initiate the copy will it travel through the USB or the direct eSATA conection?
Hum...
