  1. Yes, and it's stuck on the black screen with the white arrow.
  2. I got a friend's computer today. This is what she described. She has a Dell Inspiron 2200 laptop with Windows XP. She used a Verizon Wireless PCMCIA internet card to gain access to the internet. She said she pulled the card out of the laptop, and received a BSOD, she tried to reboot and she said the computer got stuck on the Windows XP bootup window for like 10 min. She tried again and the same thing. She gave the computer to me. I plugged in the card, and turned on the laptop. I had the same problem. So I restarted again and hit F12 for Setup. I then came to the Safe Mode menu, and it
  3. Thanks for the info. I don't see how DRM can be on this cd b/c it's a man speaking at my church, and we copied it to a cd in data form, and wanted to see how we could get it to work. Oh well.
  4. I tried to back up my Fun With Dick & Jane movie, and I can't get DVD shrink to work. When I insert the DVD, some flash file pops up with the movie menu, and when I try to open the disk in DVD shrink I get the following error: "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid DVD navigation structure." Am I screwed?
  5. I guess I failed to mention that I need it to be an audio cd that will play in a cd player, not a data cd. I tried to burn using nero as an audio cd and it wouldn't work. As I said, DRM. You saying DRM does not help me. I don't know what a DRM means, does this mean it's impossible or possible?

  7. I have an audio file in WMA format on a cd disk. I used Cakewalk to convert the audio to mp3 and tried to compress the audio down to mono and shrink the file size to 55 mb. It still will not burn onto the cd. I am confused. It is 2 hours of play time. Any suggestions?
  8. My mom asked me to record on my tivo the show "The Christmas Blessing" that aired on NBC last night at 9 EST. Did anyone record it by chance? Or could point me in the direction of where to get it? I forgot, she's gonna kill me. Thanks Jen
  9. No, I am not trying to be malicious! Trust me. I am just trying to understand ip addresses.
  10. I understand that with ip addresses, and dialup, you can constantly change your ip address. However I noticed that a certain person (who I am tracking with an ip address) uses AOL. Everything has been the same with their ip except the last 3 digits. Example: 64.12.116.XXX is their ip The "xxx" keeps changing. I found another ip - which is 64.12.117.xxx. Would this ip address be in any relation to the 64.12.116??? Or am I way off here?
  11. My sis in law has a Hp Pavilion 754N. She had a system fan failure start on her computer a few weeks after she got it, and sent the computer away and supposedly got it fixed. Here it is a year later, and the same thing is happening. "System fan failure, the system will shut down in 15 seconds..." or something very close to that effect. Does system fan failure mean the CPU fan is bad? She opened her computer and all the fans in the case are running until the computer shuts down. What does this error mean? And if it is the CPU fan where can I get a fan to fit the cpu on that particular mot
  12. This sounds so junior high, but my sister-in-law were online last night and some dude with the aol screename surferdude15066 im'd us. He knew our names, and our ages which is highly strange that he would im us at the same time and know our info. He was saying some horrible deraggatory stuff and calling us "f-ing whores" etc. we are youth workers at our church and truly think it's a young person trying to be cool. We'd love to call this little brat out and was wondering if there was a way to get this kid's ip or something? Anyone have any ideas?
  13. Can you refresh my memory on how to do that? I am running XP Home. Is this possible?
  14. Is it possible to transfer files over Real VNC? If so, how? I am bewildered.
  15. Actually I think I figured out a way to make the menu transparant using layers in the website. I guess I just didn't dig far enough.
  16. I guess I am wanting to overlap the menu onto the site so that the pulldown menu goes over the website and back up again. I don't know if this is an option in the Flash123 program or something I need to change in Dreamweaver.
  17. The program I am using is 123 Flash Menu - is anyone familiar with that program?
  18. I am still looking for help regarding this issue. I want the gray area to disappear and be flush with the rest of the site. When the pull down menu occurs, I want it to overlap the regular site. Is this at all possible?
  19. she said thanks for the input. By the time I got back to her, she had already uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. Oh well. Thanks for the help guys.
  20. My friend just called me. She is running XP and her printer (an HP I assume) was printing some documents when she lost power to her computer and printer. When she turned the printer back on the document was stuck in the print queue and she couldn't print anything else. She right-clicked and deleted the job, which is said "deleting..." but now it's been a whole day and the job won't go away. She has unplugged the printer and plugged it back in, restarted, everything.....short of uninstalling the printer. Does she need to uninstall and reinstall or is there an easier way? Thanks in advance.
  21. Just tried that and found a MS bulletin on the matter. I deleted 2 entries in the Registry and it's working like a charm!
