gmail's smpt server. I changed the settings the same way I made em so I really have no idea why its doing this.
-
yeah I can use it, but when every time I try to sync my my thunderbird inbox it asks me to verify the security certificate because im connecting to imap.gmail.com but the cert is signed for pop.gmail.com. I just need to reset that certificate but i I dont know how
-
How do I reset the security certification on this? When I switched my Thunderbird to imap it always asked me If I wanted to continue since the certificate I had was signed to the pop server.

I am finally running Linux successfully on my laptop and server without windows at all and its been nearly a month since I've touched windows. I just wanted to thank all you guys for putting up with me and all those questions.

Ive had the experience of turning my 200 mobo into a piece of junk while trying to flash it. Just as everybody said before, only do it if you need it.
(I've also been able to flash 4 other computers with no problems)

I have the same problems with some games. For some reason some games just hate hamachi. There is a "fix" of sorts that works occasionally. Go to Network Connections and under the advanced tab go to Advanced Settings. Once there you should see a list of all your available connections listed. Move the hamachi connection to the top by using the arrows on the side. For some reason that helped with some of my games.

Hey guys
Is it possible to "dual boot" into either normal windows (booting from the harddrive) or linux which is stored on the network? Ive looked into something called pxe a little, but that looks more like a one way thing. Linux only and it seems you need some sorta special bios for it.
-
Yeah, I have m4 installed
How do you configure autoconf?
-
I am trying to build libtorrent and rtorrent with a patch so that DHT can be used.
I used aptitude to install autoconf so wouldnt M4 have been installed with it if it was necessary?
edit:
Well i downloaded the lastest version of m4 through cvs, but it needs autoconf to get the configure file.
so...that sorta leaves me stuck lol.
edit again:
How can I check if M4 is already installed or not? I think it may be.
-
Im trying to compile a program and I needed to run autoconf on a configure.ac file. When I ran the program, I received this error
linuxrig:/home/sid/svn/libtorrent# autoconf
configure.ac:17: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
See the Autoconf documentation.
configure.ac:18: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_CONFIG_HEADER
configure.ac:19: error: possibly undefined macro: AC_DISABLE_STATIC
configure.ac:21: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_DISABLE_STATIC
configure.ac:22: error: possibly undefined macro: AM_PROG_LIBTOOLAny ideas on how to fix this?

Definitely something to keep around

Hey guys i had a question with apache and .htaccess. I have it set up so my folder with my media drives is protected with a password. When I try to get to the page, I get a password prompt. When I fill it out and press enter I get a page saying that there was an internal server error.

Well Ktorrent seems to have some bug in it where it randomly crashes after a few hours or so. I dont know whats going on with it, but the bug tracker had lots of the same reports. (According to them the fix is in the latest version which is the same version I am running)
So is there a way to run ktorrent so it restarts automatically after a crash? It seems to save the data prior to the crash so as long as it keeps running, I dont care how often it crashes.
-
hmm yeah I dont think this is going to work with ktorrent. I need to stick with ktorrent though because it seems to be the only client i can run on this my computer. All the others crash on start for some reason. Thanks anyway
-
New question for you all
I want Ktorrent to run always in the background even if all the users log off. Is this possible?
and if you cant, is there a way to keep a user always logged in running Ktorrent in the background?
Thanks for all your help
-
Well..I sorta need those ntfs drives lol
I am going to trust those ntfs-3g drivers haha
Thanks though it worked
-
sigh.. so many stupid mistake today
I didnt enable the user lol
I still dont have the ability to write or delete files from my shared files though. What would I have to change to allow this?
-
Well guys now I have all my drives mounting correctly, I added them to samba to have them share.
I set up a user sid and a password for it too.
When I try to log in from my laptop I get a prompt asking for my username and password. I put put of them in but instead of accepting the box just re appears with the text LAPPY\sid instead of just sid. (lappy is the name of my computer)
The username and password for both samba and my laptop are the same.
What should I be doing?
This is my smb.conf

netbios name = linuxrig

[D Drive]

do \\IPADRESS
Find use their lan Ips, They should be something like 192.168.1.XXX
-
Ahh found my mistakes. Two spelling mistakes
Its Umask and sdc not sbc
Everything its working now
-
ahh thank you thats exactly what I meant
Well my fstab entries now are
/dev/sdb1 /media/Mybook vfat defaults,unmask=222,users 0 0
/dev/sbc1 /media/500g ntfs-3g defaults,unmask=222,users 0 0but they still dont mount on boot.
-
Ahh now I can acess it after installing the ntfs-3g drivers. I can fully acess both drives now. I just need them to mount on start. I changed the fstab to use ntfs-3g instead of just ntfs
Thanks for all your help everybody!!
