here in nz we have had daylight saving for thirty five years so setting xp to day light saving wasent a problem but when i insatlled ubuntu i had lots of trouble as it wouldnt load to the time factor it also changed my day saving options in xp i didnt know what to do so in desperation i changed my day light xp daylight savings to our settings and lo and behold ime in the trouble in ubuntu i couldnt find any were to change am to pm but once i set my xp settings it all fell into place if you dont get the date and time right you are in that stuff that we have to sit down for marty

at the bottom of the reply page the window fast reply keeps comming up. how do i shut off un less i have to use it it isnt a problem apart from haveing to stop it every time i reply any ideas marty

does the mbr operate the same way in partitioning.for your data ect as partitioning with another sys in a dual boot? it is some thing i always need help with an example i dual booted when i first installed ubuntu i mabe a mistake of not noting the sys password so i had to go to disk management and delete those partitions and as a result i couldnt get back into window so i had to reset the mbr sent in by some from some one on the board is there a way round this? does the sys operate like this when you use the partition for local content/ im not thaty good at partitioning is there tuto

hi mark i have to versions of xp 64 bit and 32 bit and unfortunately i cant use the reg key from one to the other tho in the scannow option i can insert either disk and both work tho with the 64 bit it stops and asks to insert the cd but all i have to do is press the retry button and it will scan right through defies logic dosent it marty

hi i have a wee querry the pm notices at the top of the page my pm notices says -2 new messages what does that mean the minus sign has me puzzled how it got there im not sure i was in there making sure all my friends werent blocked and when i came out that sign has been there for a coupla days what have i done wrong marty

this is some ting ive posted for quite along time your cookies are the secret after i got the phone dialer i posted at g4 i think and pete_c posted and said keep scanning with adaware but you need to change youe cookie settings to prompt and block as dialer plants a pixel on your sys through the cookie and if you have no way of discovering it will track your surfing habits and take over your sys as what happened to me so i changed my cookies to block and prompt and when i get a prompt i block all prompts no matter where it is from and then go back in later and remove the ones i ne

if you have a legal disk you could try insert disk go to run -in the run box -type cmd at the prompt type sfc/scannow press enter dont touch the compt while it is scanning some times the scan will stop and ask to insert your cd just press retry and it may do this through out the scan but just press retry it can be done with out the cd but you have to change the settings in the registry try the scan from the cd first marty
