hi team i pmed jeff and all is well now. he fixed everything. im so pleased . i was in a panic when i discovered i couldnt log in . i though my god what am i going to do? the problem was my k- board which wasent typing the y in marty and was rejecting the the user name . the y key had a bit of poop, under it and for god sake i didnt notice it. so i tried other user names i use at different times . when i was at world start message board some one reminded me i wasent typing the y letter . so i changed the k-board. and bingo y was there how ever when i pmed jeff he set me on the right

hi team thanks for your linux info ive accessed lycoris and it seems to be a commercial disk aimed at people buying the the software and components for linux products ok im fine with that. it has to be payed for . i accessed ubuntu. as it was recommened to me by the tech who configured the mandrake 9.1 modem driver.from DSE [where i bought the dsik from for $2] but he dosent work there any more. that is why i posted here i know what it was like trying to configure the 9.1 modem driver from the konsole with many swears words and long hours . but i got it on , and i was posting to techt

ho robroy does that include modem drivers my modem is a xh1154 dse -56k -pci int-ham v2 and it is linux compatable tho i think with ubuntu the configuration is slightly different than mandrake 9.1 i tried ubuntu before but it was in a dual boot with xp and xp was a bit of a nuisence with the dual boot ubuntu found all the drivers but the modem driver.i think this applies to all linux osess so i had to uninstall it the same applied to lycoris thanks

hi team ive just come into a spare compt which hasent an operating sys installed. my Q i have a lycoris and a ubuntu instalation disks my q whcih one is the easiest to get drivers for i already have winxppro on a compt but ide like to try a linux os as long as the drivers are easy to get any ideas my specs are 256ram ,30gighdd. cd rom.dialup modem.1geg cpu. if any other specs are needed post in thanks marty

thanks JD do you mind if i submit your observations to an ameuter group i belong to observing the weather patterns over the last 50 years. the snow at this time of the year is very unusual 23ys since it last snowed here in sept. but before that it hadent snowed for 73yrs as ive just found out. it is about a 1ft thick at the moment and dosent look like stopping thanks again marty

does any one feel global warming affects the climate. i ask because at the moment it is snowing here it is sept the 19th and it hasent snowed at this time of the year for 23 yrs on my front lawn it is 2inches thick and still comming down heavily the city i live in does have snow in the middle of winter. but it never sticks. so does any one think there is a climate change around the world . or is it a weather cycle that happens once in a while . the reason i posted was im a strong invirementalist. and ime trying to gauge reactions from around the world and what better place than the board .
