And... it just restarted haha! At least it does not take long to start up.

Wow, that is a lot of info!
There are some references to USB drives not Entering Selective Suspend, the CPU Utilization Processor utilization is high, and Platform Power Management Capabilities:PCI Express Active State Power Management Disabled.
I don't understand what the third option means, but it does reference power. Do you understand what it means?

Thanks, Chuck, I will try that now and see what happens.

I am going to go turn it on now, and just uninstall programs that I don't use.
I am thinking about buying a new power supply and seeing if that fixes it - only they are not so cheap.
-
Nope, no screen saver.

Hi, Chuck!
That was a fast response! I left to go make dinner.
In power & sleep, the screen is set to turn off after 10 minutes, and it is set to Never sleep. I used a balanced power plan.

About 2 weeks ago, my computer began restarting every 30 minutes. After a few days, the time between restarts varied between 30 minutes to 2 hours. I am concerned that it is my power supply, and unsure how to determine if that is the case. How can I determine what is causing this? Any ideas? Thanks!

I need to back up the drive to an already formatted external hard drive.
I guess it is a basic backup.

Seagate DiscWizard is their free branding of Acronis True Image. Not sure how it checks for a Seagate drive.
EULA:
Licensor grants to Licensee a worldwide, nonexclusive, nontransferable, royalty free license to use the DiscWizard software with Seagate and Maxtor branded disc drives only.I've also read some good reviews on the free tool DriveImage XML
Thanks, Matt! <3<3<3
I will check them out.

I swear I used a program 2 years ago, a free program that was so easy to use.
I want to copy my C drive to my external hard drive.
Thanks!

OH! I went to apple's site and downloaded the English manual for the Macbook, but could not find my answer there.

Hey! So I finally got a Macbook, and I am setting it up now. I am in the very early stages and already had some questions.
I am ignorant of all things MAC, and I am terrified of making a permanent mistake during the initial setup that will affect me for the life of the computer. My manual is all in Japanese, and I can understand maybe 7% (being optimistic here, guys)
I am about 4 screens in, at the "select a wireless service" screen. All of the options I select require a password, that I do not have.
I do not have wifi at home, and want to use my cable modem at home. But I want to be able to use wireless hot spots when I go out and about.
Can I set it up with a cable modem initially but still be able to use my wireless capability around town?
Thanks!

ahh! found it! Go to msconfig - boot.ini - advanced and the system identifies the invalid path and asks if you want to delete. Sorted
hey!
good to know - and nice job fixing it yourself!

Thanks bunches - what a great help.
I am looking at a Japanese computer with an English operating system, and that great toggle key on the keyboard that goes between the roman alphabet and Japanese... This should help until I get a new computer...
thanks!

Why do they all look like the same truck, most of them in the same spot?
Am I missing something?
Oh, it is photoshop.
DUH!
Sorry, you got me!
Good job!

Just yesterday, Son called me from his college apartment asking,
"How much mayonnaise do you use for tunafish salad?"
I think I'm now thankful he brings his laundry home on weekends!
Sending that one to HIM!
Liz
Just try to explain to them why you should NOT put laundry detergent in the dishwasher!
HA!

Fears are there to give you a challenge to overcome them. Every time you fear something, you must charge and head butt it!
I guess if I had to pick something... I would be terrified of living in Texas...
Joking joking!
hehehehe

Win 10 machine restarts every (about) 30 minutes
in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, and XP

Solved - it was my power supply. Apparently lightning is not good for them. Replaced it and all is well now. Thanks for your help!
