  2. Hiya everybody!! I was wondering how I would go about setting up my MySpace IM? I was able to get the /home/******/Desktop/MSIMClientSetup.1.0.366.0.msi on my desktop but that's as far as I got. If someone would be kind enough to tell me how to do this, I'd greatly appreciate it. And you know me I'm a step-by-step chick so any info would do me some justice. Thx

  4. Hey guys!! it's just lil 'ole me again. I'm already using my Yahoo Messenger through GAIM but what I'd like to do is have it set up the way it was when I was using 'er Windows. When I go to Yahoo installation screen they give me these instructions: Debian Linux 1. Save the file to your machine. 2. Log in as root and type: dpkg -i ymessenger_1.0.4_1_i386.deb to install the application. 3. Run /usr/bin/ymessenger from X Window to launch the application. And since I'm generally new to Linux, I was under the impression that you don't log in as "Root" so could you please tell me how I'd

The reason for my asking is because everytime I log on, all my contacts want to start talking at the same time..LOL.. Heck I'm only human and don't wanna say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Can you tell me how to do this? I think I might've asked before but it would certainly help.

  11. Published: May 4, 2006, 4:40 PM PDT Sun Microsystems plans to alter its licensing to make it easier to bundle Java Runtime Environment with Linux. The company will announce the changes and possibly one other open-source move at the JavaOne conference later this month, Sun executives said during a press teleconference Thursday. Laurie Tolson, a vice president in the Java platform group, said that Sun, which licenses Java to other software companies, has modified the terms to be more favorable to open-source operating systems, specifically Linux and OpenSolaris. She said the changes affect the J

  14. A man has spent many days crossing the desert without water. His camel dies of thirst. He's crawling through the sands, certain that he has breathed his last, when all of a sudden he sees an object sticking out of the sand several yards ahead of him. He crawls to the object, pulls it out of the sand, and discovers what looks to be an old brief case. He opens it and out pops a genie.... But this is no ordinary genie. He is wearing an IRS ID badge and dull grey suit. There's a calculator in his pocket. He has a pencil tucked behind one ear. "Well, kid," says the genie. "You know how it works. Yo

  16. Look now I know it's not Christmas yet but I had to do this. A few days before Christmas, a man enters a pet store looking for a unique gift for his wife. The store manager tells him he has just what he's looking for! A beautiful parrot named Chet that sings Christmas carols. He brings the husband over to a colorful but quiet bird. The man agrees that Chet certainly is pretty, but he doesn't seem to be much for singing. The manager tells him to watch as he reaches into his pocket and pulls out a lighter. The manager then clicks the lighter and holds it under Chet's left foot. Immediately Chet
  17. Hey Everybody...it's me again. Hope your Wednesday is groovin'. I'm rather curious about Desktop Themes because I'd like to add one. The first thing I initially did was visit http://ubuntuguide.org/ and searched high and low to see what they had to offer but I didn't find anything. Then I gave it a shot and decided to visit http://themes.freshmeat.net/ but didn't really understand the lingo. I think the theme thingy is rather cool because it makes your desktop look really good as opposed to the normal everyday desktop. It's really not a big deal but I was wondering if anyone could tell me
  18. Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. They loaded up in Jack's minivan and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. They pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night. "I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed," she explained. "I'm afraid neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house." "Don't worry," Jack said. "We'll be happy to sleep in the barn. And if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light." The
