  1. The beep decoder I read basicly said this; Its screwed, try detect it in Bios, if it cant be detected there then its really screwed.

It also says the HD itself has no speakers so it cant be the thing beeping, but every thing else I have plugged it into makes the exact same tones.

Yeah I have checked cables, and tried it on various computers.

no i have not flashed the bios

  2. Ok, problem. I never had any viruses/spyware problems up until now. When i realised that outpost firewall was interfeering with something and giving me blue screens of death everyonce in a while i unistalled it and run with now firewall for a month. After that i installed the new outpost that didnt have that problem but component control was canceling my connection so i just shut that one as well and rolled with no firewall for another month. Ever since then, removed is kinda messed up. I run adaware pro, search&destroy, stinger on safe mode and i did a full scan with Viruscan enteprize(my antivirus) only to kill some stuff but still run with problems. Finally i got zone alarm pro and i put the problem in check somehow by just blocking a bunch of stuff that attemp to connect to the internet. Its still annoying though, my antivirus is reporting atleast 4 removed daily where i never had a problem before. any suggestions cause i'm about to format my stuff.

  5. AT&T Inc. is cutting its introductory price for broadband Internet over phone lines, sliding in below price leader Verizon Communications Inc. with a $12.99 monthly deal.

The offer, which begins Friday for Web orders, is for a yearlong contract. When the contract runs out, the price jumps to $29.99.

The offer on DSL (digital subscriber line) service replaces a previous introductory offer of $14.99 for six months. Verizon has a non-introductory plan for $14.99 a month.

AT&T's move is a continuation of last year's price war, which saw DSL providers cutting introductory prices in half. It puts additional pressure on cable companies, who have hardly cut prices on their broadband services.

The most recent market analyses available show cable companies maintaining their long-held 2-to-1 edge over phone carriers in broadband subscriber numbers, though phone companies have reported strong growth lately.

AT&T, based in San Antonio after SBC Communications Inc.'s acquisition of the former long-distance giant, is the country's largest DSL provider, with 7 million lines. Verizon served 5.1 million broadband lines at the end of last year, including fiber-optic lines.

The maximum download speed for AT&T's cheapest plan is 1.5 megabits per second, twice the maximum on Verizon's line. Actual speed will depend on such factors as a consumer's distance from a telephone switching office.

AT&T also cut its introductory prices on faster lines. A line of up to 3 megabits per second will cost $17.99 per month for a year, down from $21.99 per month for six months. The regular price is $34.99 per month.

Though popular, DSL is not necessarily a cash cow for telephone companies. Verizon only recently started making a profit on the lines, excluding costs for interest, depreciation and amortization. AT&T said customers are more likely to stay with the company if they buy DSL.

  7. I think it is just another wannabe ploy of the RIAA to stop people from burning copies of cds which is stupid because you bought the cd maybe you do not want to mess up the orginal so you want to make a copy to play in the car have one in the wifes car and maybe have one to play in the house on the home theater system but no you cannot do this because of copyright crap they are making it so hard for regular people to pop in a cd and press play they are lossing more money doing all this crap that people are just downloading them cause its so much easier (and they wonder why people steal music)
