Flatiron
I'm on a friends NEW PC(3 WEEKS OLD) so hope an expert can look at this soon.Spybot S&D found a few tracking cookies plus Wild Tangent. Did not fix Wild Tangentbecause I think HP comes with it? Ad-aware found a few tracking cookies too.CWShredder found nothing. NIS 2006 found nothing.I'm thinking NIS and only 256 of RAM is why this thing is so slow? Thanks! Besttechie
Hey flatiron,HJT log is clean. I'm going to say the reason it's slow is the reason you already stated above. For Windows XP I recommend at least 512MB of ram. So you will want to upgrade that .. and Norton is a huge resource hog. A combo of not enough RAM and Norton can definitely cause slowdows, especially when running other programs as well. 1. Get at least 512MB of RAM2. Remove Norton3. Get AVG (If you want free) or NOD32 (If you want to pay)B
