Okay I know of Toast from Roxio, but it's expensive and I'd make a horrible pirate(I can't even Argh!). All I want it a possibly free or like 20$ app that can burn VCD's (visual/movie CD's) so I can watch them on my portable DVD player. But I'm not sure... Can someone help.

Do I even need an app to do it or can I just burn them on a CD in the proper folder names and it'll work? Do they have to be a specific video file type?

Any help would be much appreciated, THANKS :-)

I found in a diffrent forum the answer I think you are looking for

http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-14756.html

here is the meat I think you need. its half way down

You can create VCD/SVCD and DVD using

Free software on Mac OS X.

You will need:

mjpegtools http://mjpeg.sf.net/

vcdimager http://www.vcdimager.org/

and finally to burn

hdiutil, disc copy or cdrtools.

hdiutil and disc copy are included in Mac OS X.

I wrote the AltiVec optimizations to the MPEG2

encoder in mjpegtools. You can check out

the slightly out of date benchmarks at

http://klicman.org/altivec/

add----
