Naming is hard
I used to have an Apache server set up but then i had to reformate about 2months back.I havn't needed it so i havn't reinstalled it....untill now (DUM DUM DUM)So i downloaded the .MSI installer for Windows, ran it, typed it http://localhost/ and....404 error -.-I figured i did something wrong so i followed this guide http://www.mpcon.org/apacheguide/apache.phpI read the Apache FAQ didn't find anything, so i read and reinstalled about 5times and even went to the Apache IRC channel and of course its basicly empty.I don't think im doing anything wrong because its just an installation.I also told Window's firewall to let it through, and the status of the Apache server is green. bobgo2627
No it installed correctly. Here is your problem, you need to one edit your httpd.conf file. Also, there are a few other icons, can not remember what they are now that you can use to test the server. Try http://127.0.0.1 and see if that works. If not try the PC's IP address. I know I had to edit the HOSTS file in Windows to get things to run here. I know what you are seeing is right to a point. That looks like it installs alot of other crap i don't want, rather just get this worknig so i can just have Ruby and PHPEDIT: Now i'v got it to give me an error,
