just2good4u3434
Well my favorite person in the world Martint gave me a stick of 256MB PC2100 Ram and installed it. The thing is the stick he gave me is only PC2100, the 512MB of ram that was already installed on my PC is PC2700. So is it better to run 512MB at PC2700 or 768MB at PC2100. Also what are the risks of overclocking my ram back to PC2700 and should I just overclock it?Thanks in advance for and help!
shanenin
What processor does your computer have? It may not even need ram faster then 2100. If that is the case you would definately get better results from the higher amount of ram.

xxkbxx
Put the 768 in there, and don't worry about overclocking, you won't notice a difference if you do
shanenin
if you are not using any ram intensive stuff, which is not using all 512mbs, it would probably slow things down using the slower memory. If you are running ram intensive programs that would use more then 512mbs, then you would probably gain on having more ram, even if it is running slower. My thought is slower running ram is much faster then swapping to a harddrive.
