and im buggered if i can find the post

i think he was answering somes ones post about a laptop hdd

there was a cd and a floppy version

A Google search on "dban" brought up the original authors site, and at least 10 sites where you could d'oad it, plus another bunch that reviewed it...

Looks like a good utility, I haven't heard of this one yet so I'll have to test it out and see how I like it. I still use Active KillDisk at the moment, but it never hurts to have more than one Killdisk utility at hand.

I like autoclave but believe me it takes a while to overwrite 25 times. of course autoclave has been discontinued but some colleges are still using it. I have no way to prove that it really wiped it to dod standards. that's the good thing about smoke signals...one good wind will take care things...ok...ok that's enough...I'm outta here.

How many Gigs can a smoke signal store???

Thats what I thought...only 640k can be stored in smoke signals, the "old" Bill Gates size limitation applies to those.

(Actually, that was misquoted as coming from Bill Gates. He has denied ever saying that "640k ought to be enough memory for anyone")

we think as bits and bytes.

bout time you posted

the reason i asked about dban

was i saw it in a post

then it dissappeared

well i hunted for it on the board

i typed it in the search

but nothing came up ,so i posted

and aluvus sent the link

then i discovered the post i read was at g4

several days ago posted by aprior

ok egg on my face.

some how i get these memery lapses

my doc says i wont come right until after the operation

so im sitting pat until then

i would like to be able to use some thing like

dban or killdisk

the trouble with xp installing from the cd

it dosent give this option

some time ago i had a look at autoclave

but when i got in there

the author said it no longer existed

im going to try some sort of kill disk

and im going to need you help
