should I get my SSL certificate for www.domain.com or domain.com?

Is there a way to forward the domain or something like that to the type that has the SSL cert, so that no matter what people use it has it? I dont want to buy 2 SSL certificates if at all possible.

If not what is more popular w/ or w/o www.?

It seems to me that people always want to use the www, whether it's needed or not. So, I would recommend getting it for the www.domain.com address.

As for compensating for the other address, there are several ways to do this. It is quite easy in Apache, and not so bad in IIS. What web server are you running?
