Deleting Files With Safe Mode

Just curious, when I read fixes, often people are told to boot into safe mode and delete certain files. Since hjt offers delete at reboot, why not have people just use that tool?

Delete on reboot is a good option. Thats why many people use Killbox for every fix. Its often just a kind of preference thing. Sometimes deleting in Safe Mode won't work, and a delete on reboot is needed. I like Killbox because its much easier (especially with multiple files) than with the HJT tool.

I use killbox more because I know what file I put there to delete is more than likely gonna be deleted.. It greatly lowers the chance of a user deleting the wrong thing because you have them paste what they're going to delete. It also makes it easier because you dont have to explain how to hide / rehide files and you dont have to boot into Safe Mode which saves time and is more user-friendly.

thanks for all of your input. Killbox seems like the easiest way to give a fix. I seems to reduce user error, and reduce steps involved to delete a file.

if you know what file/s you want to delete you could do that automatically using batch files by opening notepad and typing deltree or Del and after that the name such as C:/programfiles then save as fsg.bat watever title you want to add then save as type all files and then save then reboot in safe mode and excute it
