My PC has been hijacked by www.sweepstakes.com. When I go to a website I am unwillingly getting redirected to www.sweepstakes.com. I have run Spybot, Adaware, Ewido Anti-Mmalware & Windows Defender-none of these have fixed the problem which leads me to believe it might be difficult to get this off my PC. I really need some help. The redirects are starting to drive me crazy. Any assistance that can be provided would be appreciated.

Hello and Welcome to Besttechie!

Please print out all directions given, for use if/when you cannot access this page.

Please locate the HiJackThis icon and right click it. Select Rename. Change it's name to 19328.

Next, Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools

Click "Open Uninstall Manager"

Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)

Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Jotti File Submission:

  • Please go to Jotti's malware scan
  • Copy and paste the following file path into the "File to upload & scan"box on the top of the page:
    • C:\windows\system32\pumd.exe

    [*] Click on the submit button

    [*] Repeat those steps for the following file as well: C:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exe

    [*] Please post the results of both scans in your next reply.

Please go here to upload a suspicious file for analysis.

  • Enter your username from this forum
  • Enter the following files to submit: C:\windows\system32\pumd.exe and C:\program files\common files\system\ms2src.exe
  • In the comments, enter Upload Requested by Matt
  • Click on Send File

So, post back with the Uninstall List, the 2 Jotti Scan Results, and a new scan from the renamed HJT.
