shanenin
I have been googling for awhile, I can't seem to find the specs for a replacment power supply for an "ibm ps-1 consultant" desktop
TheTerrorist_75
What's the model number? Is it an early PS/1 with the power supply in the monitor? There are several IBM PS/1 computers listed at ebay. They go for about $50 to $70.
shanenin
is it safe to say it will be a very non standard supply?as to the exact model, "ps-1 consultant" is the only info I have Edited May 8, 2006 by shanenin
TheTerrorist_75
I imagine that it will be a non-standard power supply. Cataclysmcow or uberpenguin would probably know somehting of these early PCs. Do you have the PC in your possession?IBM vintage PCs at ebay Edited May 8, 2006 by TheTerrorist_75
shanenin
I don't have it in my possesion. I aqm guessing it is something like thishttp://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-PS-1-Consultant-80...1QQcmdZViewItemI got a call from someone who was looking for a power supply. I can't imagine wanting to fix it. If he is a collector(I doubt it), I think he would already have scanned ebay(not called me) for the part.
TheTerrorist_75
It would be easier to find if the exact model was known. There were a few different IBM PS/1 systems.Vintage power supplies
Dragon
shanenin,If you can find out any dimension specs on that ps, let me know, I may have one in my stock. generally those were 100W or 150W ps units.

The IBM PS/2 used a 24W power supply. The PS/1 came out in 1990. The original PS/1 had the power supply built into the monitor which was attached.

The sad part is there won't be a way to get a new one, it will have to be a used one since, thank god, they don't make them like that anymore. Any one need a ps for the original Apple ][ computer, I know I have one of those.
xxkbxx
You can always have them just put the thing in a new case (i'm assuming the issue if finding a PSU to fit their case)
TheTerrorist_75
You can always have them just put the thing in a new case (i'm assuming the issue if finding a PSU to fit their case)That would be impractical if the person wishes to keep it as is. That is a vintage PC.

shanenin
You can always have them just put the thing in a new case (i'm assuming the issue if finding a PSU to fit their case)you are assumbing the mother board uses a standard atx powersupply. I do not think it does. I am not sure though.
