Dan
Hey everyone!I already posted at BC and G2G, but Jeff wanted me to post here.Heres the deal:Whenever I press a key on my keyboard, it freezes the mouse. Everything still runs in the backround though. In the device manager, it says that the keyboard conficts with the mouse on I/O 0060-0060 and 0064-0064.Its a Dell Latitude C540, with a built in keyboard and touchpad and dot thingy in the middle. I tried setting the bios to default. Also, I can't change the I/O ranges. They're grayed out Thanks,
JDoors
It's not clear if you've added a mouse or you're talking about the dot-thingy locking up. To paraphrase Jan Brady: Drivers, drivers, drivers!
Dan
I already tried to update/reinstall them....the mouse is working. and the dot thingy is working.Whenever I press a key on my keyboard, then it locks up the system.
TheTerrorist_75
If you are using an external mouse have you tried disabling the touchpad in the bios?
Dan
No, no external mouse. I have it enabled, because I use it.
JDoors
It's confusing because you keep saying "mouse" but you're actually talking about the pointer, right? I'm afraid something's really buggered up if the factory pointer/touchpad and keyboard drivers can't cooperate with each other. I'd revert to the original setup (save your files, reinstall the OS) then d/l and install the latest drivers.
martymas
not sure if this sounds silly or not are you sure if the mouse and key-b connectors are in the proper inputsmarty
