hi all

i wonder if any can settle an argument

on which virus scanner microsoft use

my neighboer says they use semantics

but my contentions is different countrys different scanners

a feel a virus scanner is a third party appli

and it wouldnt be fair to other companys

to favour one scanner over an other

besides i saw her compt and semantics has loaded all sorts of s---t

it is absilutely loaded with

stuff that is no use

just advertising and branding

in all the time ive used a compt

the paid ones are the most dangerous

for a new user

if you go one day with out PAYING

they cut you off

that is why the free ones became popular

and in to days climate

they are just as good

as well as being very much smaller

i refer to avg and avast

and trend micro

ive used a free one from when i was at techtv.f.h

\and i havent chaanged

some of the senior posters tried to steer us towards paid ones

and those days it may have been justified

but not in todays climate

any thoughts from you

more brainier than me

this proves in my original post, microsoft

dosent favour one scanner or the the other

as the 3 replys indicate.

it got into trouble with european countrys

trying to embed wmp in to applis

going to countrys outside the usa

and they got fined for it

so i cant see them embracing

one scanner for another

my neighbers nephew

works for microsoft australia

thanks all

marty
