TheTerrorist_75
Read: Microsoft Ships IE (Eolas) UpdateThe cumulative non-security IE update was released Feb. 28 as an optional download for IE6 on Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and is a direct result of the multimillion-dollar patent spat with Chicago-based Eolas Technologies. The modifications mean that IE users won't be able to directly interact with Microsoft ActiveX controls loaded by the APPLET, EMBED, or OBJECT elements without first activating the user interface with an extra mouse click.I didn't realize what it was for and downloaded it to my Win98SE PC. It was in the list when I went to Windows Update. This update blocked the use of Panda Active Scan and HouseCall. I could not find anywhere to click as instructed to allow the ActiveX component required. This update is not required for security reasons. Microsoft plans to upgrade this update and force it on users later.Additional inforamtion.Internet Explorer ActiveX update Edited March 2, 2006 by TheTerrorist_75
