shanenin
I just got a call from someone with a gateway computer. He said after shutting it down, it will start up by its self. What kinds of things could cause this? I have not seen this computer, so I do not have any more info to give. Just curious.
Besttechie
Hey,The only thing I can think of at the moment that would do that is something called Wake-On-LAN which could possibly be enabled in the BIOS, all you would need to do is turn that off (disable it) and it shouldn't happen any more.Btw, Wake-on-LAN is a PC computer network standard which allows a "sleeping" computer to be brought up to full power remotely, over a network. If you didn't know B

blim
Because it's a Gateway! Seriously, now Jeff's probably right, but I remember reading somewhere of someone having a similar problem and it ended up being a faulty power button on the tower. Seemed such an odd problem and odd solution I remembered it. Liz
