I was checking out pricewatch to see how much a cpu upgrade would run. I have the Intel D845HV mobo and have 1.4 Ghz pcu.

According to the manual (page 21) I can upgrade to a 2.0 400Mhz 256K Cache .... the problem is I can't find a mPGA 478pin 2.0Ghz 400Mhz 256K cpu the most I could find was the cpu with a 512K cache.

Can my mobo handle that?

Thank you for your time.

yes it can, I was just looking at the latest spec updates for that board.

Section 1.6, Processor, will change in its entirety as follows:

damage the board, the processor, and the power supply. See the Intel

you would see more increase in using graphics programs, compilers, video editing programs, the dvd burner, because of the cache size.

if you were doing more accounting type programs, or working on a database you would see more improvement.
