The model of the computer is a Thinkcentre A51 - 8122-ANUAny help would be appreciated :-)

shanenin
thanks, that is what I kind of suspected.don't I have to put the files on a floppy so windows xp can install to the SATA drive? The instuctions on the link seem only to work after xp is installed Edited February 6, 2006 by shanenin
TheTerrorist_75
Myabe WinXP has stock drivers that will allow the install. If not you may have to search within that download for the SATA drivers to put on a floppy.

shanenin
geaze, maybe I was overcomplicting it. In the past when I installed xp, I always intalled the sata drivers from a floppy. I assumbed it was alsways nessasaryI guess the point is moot anyways. I ended up reinstalling using the imb system recovery feature.
