xxkbxx
RaidMax 470 Watt ATX Power Supply w/ Dual Fans & Windows UL Listed K8/P4 Ready +$85.00Nemesis Black Midtower Gamer's Case w/ 400 Watt Power Supply & Front USB 2.0 +$99.95Don't pay extra for a case with a power supply if you plan on spending an additional $85 for a PSUI'd recommend Cooler Master or Thermaltake for a good case (but that's just my opinion)Western Digital 160 GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive w/ 8mb Cache +$115.00Western Digital 40 GB 7200 RPM IDE Hard Drive w/ 8mb Cache +$69.95Go with a SATA-300 interface (you would need a better motherboard), for about $140 you can get 2 120G SATA-300's and easily put them on a RAID 0 interface to speed up your system by around 30% (I still regret not doing that on my last build)1024mb (1GB) PC3200 DDR-400 SDRAM Memory Lifetime Warranty +$129.951024mb (1GB) PC3200 DDR-400 SDRAM Memory Lifetime Warranty +$129.95Go Dual Channel RAM in a 2 x 1GB (same as 1024mb), you can't go wrong with OCZ or CorsairCreative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum Retail Boxed +$195.00Sounds a little like overkill for your system, but that's just meAopen 56k v.92 PCI voice/fax modem +$19.95Do you have dial up? For $322 you can get yourself a Dual 3800+ which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Edited January 16, 2006 by xxkbxx
IEatHardDrives
You could also go with a dual core chip like AMD X2 or Pentium D.
Mistabigshot
You would want a AMD Athelon x2 3200-4000+ for your multi tasking and editing needs. 512x2 of corsair xms ram would perform better then that, ditch the lighting, get a simple case w/o a PSU, get rid of the modem and LAN cards, and ditch the DVD/CDRW drive. Your good to go.
