mikex
I am getting "acpi.sys" is corrupte. This is during install from floppies for Home and Pro, with different floppies. This is on disk 4 of both sets. Downloaded from M$. ? Does anyone have a working set I can try? M-edit-damn machine doesn't want to boot straight from cd. BIOS is set to have cd as first boot option. Parrotgeek7
Is this a burned copy of windows? (ie borrowed, not an original)

TheTerrorist_75
You may have a stick of RAM going bad. Also try another CD-Rom or IDE cable. Your drive may have failed or the lens is dirty/out of alignment. Check the CD to see if it's dirty or scratched.
Parrotgeek7
If the problem persists with 2 different sets of media and it won't boot straight from the cd, it almost has to be hardware related. Clean out your cd reader. Why are you using floppies to boot from? (Just curious)
