jcl
Dead hard drive?
pennycolorado
yes 2 dead drives
Chappy
This doesn't look promising from my viewpoint....was there any noises coming from the drive? Was it spinning up completely or did it fluctuate?I take it Safe Mode was attempted?Really tho, if installing this drive into a Slave slot on another machine makes it become unbootable, I see no viable recovery solution. We need another working OS to even attempt data recovery on this drive.Dave
pennycolorado
yes safe mode tried no go... and no noise from either
jcl
Sound like it's toast. Unless just the electronics died and the platters are intact, I'd forget about recovering it. Probably forget about it even then, given the cost of recovery services.
Chappy
I would have to say that the chances of getting these going is extremely remote, and recovery off a non spinning drive is very expensive....sorryBut i also find it very odd that both drives would die at the same time...almost statistically impossible really.....I have to go out but I'll think on this and post later.Dave
