Besttechie
Today, Master & Dynamic released a brand new product, expanding the company’s product line from headphones to speakers. The latest release from M&D is the MA770 Wireless Speaker, which has been designed by world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye – best known for his recent work on the latest Smithsonian Museum in Washington D.C. – the MA770 is made of a proprietary concrete composite that provides exceptional acoustic benefits such as increased dampening, reduced resonance, and a purer sound. In the words of Sir David Adjaye: “We created a new geometry for this speaker. A new geometry of sound.” To be honest, this is one of the most interesting speaker designs I’ve seen, perhaps only behind the Bowers & Wilkins Nautilus speaker (and that’s saying something). Take a look at the design below. The MA770 is outfitted with dual 4″ woven Kevlar long throw woofers, a 1.5″ titanium tweeter and diamond-cut anodized aluminum controls, the speaker also features an elegant, magnetically attached steel grille is removable for those that prefer the look of the exposed components and hand-finished concrete. The MA770 Wireless Speaker is available for pre-order today for $1,800 and the speakers will start shipping on May 16th, at which point they will also be available for purchase via the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) Design Store in New York City. It’s also worth mentioning that the MA770 can be used as a single speaker as well as be paired with a second speaker for a stereo configuration or multi-room setup. Hopefully we’ll be able to get the speaker in for review and see if it lives up to the price and awesome-looking design.
