baker7
Good Morning:I have been noticing that BBUS has been getting SLOW on the connection, and when she does, it seems that it takes 10-15 minutes to get to a login screen, and sometimes longer to get to a shell prompt. On it's last restart, I did a 'last' to see what was going on and got this:buddy@heather:~$ lastbuddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 21:39 still logged in reboot system boot 2.6.26-2-686 Fri Jun 7 20:14 - 23:00 (02:45) root pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 19:17 - down (00:01) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 19:12 - 19:16 (00:03) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 18:03 - 18:05 (00:01) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Tue Jun 4 17:45 - 17:46 (00:00) tcts pts/0 c-76-19-87-99.hs Tue Jun 4 12:53 - 12:55 (00:02) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Tue Jun 4 00:23 - 00:24 (00:01) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Mon Jun 3 20:34 - 20:45 (00:10) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Mon Jun 3 09:36 - 19:02 (09:26) buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Mon Jun 3 09:35 - 09:36 (00:00) reboot system boot 2.6.26-2-686 Sun Jun 2 14:28 - 19:19 (5+04:51) wtmp begins Sun Jun 2 14:28:30 2013buddy@heather:~$ wI am looking specifically at the following lines of last:buddy pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 21:39 still logged in reboot system boot 2.6.26-2-686 Fri Jun 7 20:14 - 23:00 (02:45) root pts/0 discovery.buddy- Fri Jun 7 19:17 - down (00:01) Does this log indicate that BBUS took 2 HOURS and 45 MINUTES to fully restart? I am thinking that there may be something that is slowing down my server, but BBUS is on its OWN seperate Network, on its own 10MEG Down connection. Is it normal for a server to take that long when you do a 'shutdown now -r'?Brian
