hi team i have this flatbed scanner

a usb microtek

win 7 could not find drivers

i hunted all up and down the net for em

i tran fered the scanner

to a machine with winxppro

and it found the driver at boot up and set every thing up with out my help

can some one tell me why the difference between the two sys

my opinion wind 7 is a piece of of commercialised bullshit

and the atrangest thing it finds most drivers

compatable to microsoft

and have forgotten

users who have other

com[ponent hardware

any offers

Did you try a compatibility mode on that scanner. Right click on the file and set the Compatibility to XP.

That is one of the costs you face when you go with a new OS, often you find that your hardware is not compatible.

Yes, you can try running things in compatibility mode, but remember that it may cause problems (freezes, crashes , conflicts with other devices..)

Since it still works on the XP machine; you may find that the best option is to keep it connected to that one and use it if you need to use the device. Then eventually go and buy a new win7 compatible one for the new machine.

yes pete i agree with your post

ive confined it to the winxppro machine

i tried to do away with the compatability sys

when i loaded win 7

i didnt checked the boxes

but it made no difference

it is there so ime stuck with it

It Virtualizes XP and allows you to run anything that worked with XP. Just start XP Mode and instal lthe drivers under XP and scan what you need.

Thats how I use my old flatbed scanner

That is the smartest thing MS has done this century. It may induce persons willing to die with XP just to avoid these kinds of head aches, to purchse W-7.
