handplane
After getting SP2 on Wed., my nightly scans are slow as molasses.Normal is about 3 minutes, over 30 is unacceptable.Stopped the scan.Had to go into safe mode to get it done.Any one else experiencing this?Could something running in the background creating this slowness?Any ideas to correct the problem? WiredMonkey
What version of Spybot are you running, handplane? Is it going through the progress slowly or is it getting to a certain point and then stopping or slowing down? Thx!

JSKY
Try reinstalling Spybot and see if that helps you.
WiredMonkey
handplane:Not sure if this will help or not, but it might be worth a shot, since I haven't heard of anything like this before. May just be that spybot hasn't encountered it yet. But give this a shot:From Spybot S&D's site:With the installation of 1.1 rel 4, there was a very small chance that all automation options have been enabled during the installation. This would cause a loop that would restart the scan again and again. If you experience such problems, please switch to the "Settings" page in Spybot-S&D (the page with the treeview), and disable all settings in the category "Automation".Let us know if that helps! Nerelda
Hey, I'm running the same version, and also have SP2 installed. I'll tell you that I've noticed my spybot gets really slow at one point and doesn't seem like it's going anywere, but keep letting it run. Maybe start it before you go to bed, and check in the AM. Mine always runs all the way through, but usually takes about 15 minutes, or more sometimes.

Hey Handplane... I noticed after loading v1.3 that unless I closed ZA, and my active Virus protection, that it took for ever to scan. Not so in Safe Mode...

How odd......when I run my scans, I still have ZA and AVG both running in the background, and no problems.
