X-Cannon
I need some msn help, I tryed to block internet access to my other accounts MSN but all to use MSN again all you do is update or download a new version. How can I stop this? the other version is also a limited account and still they managed to download msn and use it. I don't want the other account to use it at all but I want to use it. Any options? Pierce
yes the great thing about windows, once you have the registry entries, dll etc etc, its easy as pie to install software that requires all that extra permissions.solution? uninstall windows msn messenger (why well because windows and microsoft want you to use it, and they want you to communicate to your friends).then install another im application,Trillian http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/gaim http://gaim.sourceforge.netmiranda http://www.miranda-im.org/though even trillian once installed can be installed on other accounts...however gaim, miranda dont use registry's and dont use dll's so your good to goalternativly you could just lock the whole computer down, but thats nasty and you dont want to do that, every time you want to go to something your asked for a password etcif you want to know some of thoes programs let me knowPierce
X-Cannon
if I uninstall MSN they would just install it again. I thought that they couldn't download anything or install anything after all it is a limited account. I'm confused
Pierce
the only thing that i can think of is that they are listed as a "power user", it needs to be turned all the way down to guest account.what i was saying in my last post, is that you can keep going through the install because the required dll files and registry settings are still present, thus allowing an installation of msn 7. If they are at guest account level, and they can still install msn7, id recomend downloading a registry cleaner, as well as a dll tool to remove un-used dlls.Pierce
