It's important to know exactly how you got to where you are now. Did you just now add this printer to your existing computer? In other words, were you using your computer without this printer, and you just added it now?

If so, when you plugged it in Windows should have recognized that "new" hardware was found and should have presented you with a dialog box to install the necessary drivers for that printer. Windows has to know how to "talk" to everything plugged into your computer, and it uses "drivers" that tell Windows how to use that hardware.

Windows MIGHT find a driver for the printer, Windows includes drivers for common hardware, but if the correct driver for that specific printer isn't available, you must install the driver from somewhere else, for example from a disk or the manufacturer's website.

If you DO have the driver, is it installed? Have you used this printer on this computer before?
