murtu52
Nothing to be ashamed of, we all need to start somewhere.Gmail is Google's mail service. It is still in beta, therefore it is based on the invite system: You need an invite to register, and eventually you get invites to invite others. Rumors are that it will soon go public, but these will stay rumors until actually proven.

hitest
hi thanks murtu52i will probably stick to out look express.but ive often been tempted to ask. how ever one never knows. thanks again martyI've found Gmail to be an excellent e-mail client. If you'd like to try it out just PM me your e-mail address and I'll e-mail you an invite.Gmail a web based e-mail service is very similar to yahoo mail and hotmail. There are some differences.1. You have more on-line storage with Gmail, 1 GB, while hotmail and yahoo mail offer 250 MB.2. You can search your mail more effectively with Gmail.3. Gmail allows you to import all of your contact data, e-mail addresses from Outlook and Outlook Express. Edited February 11, 2005 by hitest

Gmail allows you to import all of your contact data, e-mail addresses from Outlook and Outlook Express. Also, it lets you import contacts from Yahoo too. Not sure about hotmail. Look in gmail's help files.dk
macmarauder
here's a silly thought. imagine if M$ bought google and infested the main gmail server with borg nanites. i could so easily see gmail becoming a giant blog of computers asimilating all technology and conqering the world. something like in Akira or the traper keeper episode of south park.
