JoshLyman Posted February 21, 2009 Report Share Posted February 21, 2009 Hey guys, seems whenever i post on here its cos i got a BSOD issue.Anyway, i have a dell vostro 220 desktop running vista business which currently wont boot properly.sometimes it wont boot at all and just beeps at me after i turn it on.other times i get while booting up normally or via the startup repair tool, i get 1 of 2 different BSOD screens. one trying a memory dump and giving me an error code of 0x00000050, or another with an error code 0x0000008E (0xC000001D,0x80E353FF,0xAD73819,0x00000000).I havent updated the bios or installed any new hardware since i bought it, and the only new software i installed recently was online armor v3.as far as malware programs go, i have spybot, AVG, spyware doctor and malwarebytes.i would post i hijack this log but i cant get the bloody thing to boot!anyway, please help!!!!!! bluebirdit Posted February 23, 2009 Report Share Posted February 23, 2009 The most common thing it will be is the RAM being not properly seated. If you're happy with doing it, open the case (with the PC turned off and unplugged), open the clips at either end of the RAM modules, pull out the RAM modules and then push them back in again. Then push the clips back in again. They should click into place.Make sure you touch the RAM as little as possible, holding it by the ends, and touch something metal like the case before you touch the RAM to discharge any static. If that solves it you can re enable sections one at a time to narrow it down . My first guess though would be that it is the antivirus if it is not bad ram or an incompatible hardware component.
