intocomputing2
The computer got infected with a virus, and it's a strange one, this is what happens:I can't launch avast at all (I'm guessing) it's work of the virus, every time I click avast it says there is an error and it won't let me run it. I can't access any of my 2 drives (whether C or D) I get a virus message and no access at all. Does anyone know how can I get rid of him, without the help of avast, since it has been knocked out? shanenin
The preferred answer on this board would be "post a log in the hjt forum". If you feel like taking a chance and doing it yourself, I would first run combofix, then after I would run mbam. With those two tools, you have abourt a 90% success rate of getting it removed. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofixhttp://www.besttechie.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=14289According to the author of combofix, about 1% of computers that run it may be rendered unbootable. While very effective, this tool can cause problems. Use it at your own risk.
