jimras Posted September 5, 2008 Report Share Posted September 5, 2008 I am having a problem with Excel 2000. every time I try to open a spreadsheet, the taskbar on the bottom of the excel window says "requesting virus scan" and then I get a pop up windows that says 'Microsoft Excel has encountered a problem and needs to close' and wants to send an error report. Doesn't matter which button I click on--excel closes. I use Excel a lot and this is very annoying. Anybody have any ideas on what is the problem?Comp is AMD 64 x 2 running at 3 Ghz and 4 Gigs of RAMOS is XP Pro (SP3 installed) and Excel 2000 (Office 2000 suite)Thanks, experts!jim Quote Link to post Share on other sites
