matterns
Question:Does it make sense to try to upgrade this computer to XP with service pack 3 for basic word processing (office suite 2000) and internet. All that occurs to me is that I need to at least add RAM in order to do this. TheTerrorist_75
The maximum memory that ancient HP can hold is 256 MB. XP will run on it but will be slow. I would not be using any pre-Win2K computer for a business that is connected to the Internet.
irregularjoe
I had XP on a dell PIII with 128 ram. A little sluggish, but it ran. That was before SP1 however. Not sure if the service packs take up more ram.
