Max Power
Hello!Over the last month, my ISP has sent me several warnings about spam being sent from my computer. Here is an excerpt from one of the latest messages:"You are receiving this email as we have received complaints from the internet community that your computer has been sending unauthorized broadcast messages (SPAM) to other systems. It is most likely that your system has been compromised, unbeknownst to you, with a virus, trojan/proxy, etc that is allowing a remote entity to relay spam through your system."I am running McAfee antivirus/firewall software and it detected nothing. I am also using a WRT54G Linksys router with the wireless function disabled and high security settings. I ran ShieldsUP!! and my common ports came up as Stealth. Here is the report:----------------------------------------------------------------------GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2008-05-16 at 20:09:26Results from scan of ports: 0-1055 0 Ports Open 0 Ports Closed 1056 Ports Stealth--------------------- 1056 Ports TestedALL PORTS tested were found to be: STEALTH.TruStealth: PASSED - ALL tested ports were STEALTH, - NO unsolicited packets were received, - NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.---------------------------------------------------------------------- I also ran a number of online scanners (Kaspersky, etc.) and most of them found nothing.HOWEVER, the Windows OneCare and PrevXCSI scanners noted a possible infection with this file:c:\Windows\system32\acledit32.dllUnfortunately, neither program was able to clean it.In addition, I ran a netstat command and there appears to be a number of mysterious incoming connections on port 1653.I ran ShieldsUP!! on port 1653 and it failed. Here is the report:----------------------------------------------------------------------GRC Port Authority Report created on UTC: 2008-05-16 at 20:13:28Results from probe of port: 1653 1 Ports Open 0 Ports Closed 0 Ports Stealth--------------------- 1 Ports TestedTHE PORT tested was found to be: OPEN.TruStealth: FAILED - NOT all tested ports were STEALTH, - NO unsolicited packets were received, - NO Ping reply (ICMP Echo) was received.---------------------------------------------------------------------- ANYWAY, at this point I am at a loss as to what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. Here is a copy of my HijackThis log:-----Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2Scan saved at 3:56:27 PM, on 16/05/2008Platform: Windows Vista SP1 (WinNT 6.00.1905)MSIE: Internet Explorer v7.00 (7.00.6001.18000)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\Windows\system32\taskeng.exeC:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exeC:\Windows\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\PrevxCSI\prevxcsi.exeC:\WINDOWS\RtHDVCpl.exeC:\WINDOWS\zHotkey.exeC:\WINDOWS\ModPS2Key.exeC:\Program Files\McAfee.com\Agent\mcagent.exeC:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\hpwuSchd2.exeC:\Program Files\CyberLink\Shared Files\brs.exeE:\DVD\CyberLink\PowerDVD\PDVDServ.exeC:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Acrotray.exeC:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\MOM.exeC:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exeE:\PIXELA\ImageMixer for HDD Camcorder\IMx3Launcher.exeC:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CCC.exeC:\Program Files\APC\APC PowerChute Personal Edition\apcsystray.exeC:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Live\WLLoginProxy.exeC:\HijackThis 2.0.2\HijackThis.exeR1 - jcl
In addition, I ran a netstat command and there appears to be a number of mysterious incoming connections on port 1653.netstat -b should tell you who's sitting on that port.
TheTerrorist_75
With just a quick glance at your log I see a couple of questionable files. I will move this to the proper section of the forums.
