blacksaabless Posted May 1, 2008 Report Share Posted May 1, 2008 (edited) hi every time i run a spybot s&d check on my pc (windows xp) my computer shuts down 1/4 of the way into said check, i have also found that it shuts down after 5 minutes online using mozilla firefox. any ideas how to rectify this because im a bit rubbish at computers. KimslanD Posted May 1, 2008 Report Share Posted May 1, 2008 Firstly update Spybots S&D and also your AntiVirus softwareAnd do a scan in Safe mode.To get to Safe ModeTurn on your computerJust before Windows starts (usually about after 3 secs, after boot up), repeatively press F8 function keySelect Safe ModeLog into your user accountRun Spybots S&D from thereYou may also want to run a full AntiVirus too.Return to Normal mode once complete (via Restarting) Quote Link to post Share on other sites
