option-shift-k
This post originally appeared on my blog( ®®Random ramblings) Enjoy! Ahhh… Tech tv. What happened to it? Well, it died a long time ago. Now, all us junkies have left is G4tv which is crap.( except x-play) Here is the question; What do us â€tech Junkies†do to get our vital technology news? RSS feeds? Engadget? Both are flawed. The problem is they are not fun. People do not smile at the site of an RSS aggregator, and Enagadget what a joke. Refreshing pages every 3 seconds is terrible!! Think of this; our blog here is free of charge on our end, but Engadget is paying thousands to keep there crude site running. My solution: Twit podcasts. “What the heck is twit? It sounds like some kind of insulting adjective!!†No, Twit was founded by Leo Laporte. Essentially, Twit is a podcast syndicator. Meaning, that they have multiple shows and all of which feature Leo Laporte. Let me just say I listen to basically the whole catalog of twit shows. Some shows include: This week in tech, Mac break weekly, Windows weekly, leo laporte the tech guy, Munchcast, Floss weekly and more. All of these podcasts are available in the itunes market place and zune marketplace as well. I would recommend beginners to start with the Daily giz wiz podcast. Featuring Dick Debartolo and Leo Laporte, the show offers a light take on interesting gadgets and gizmos. It is also funny! You see, Dick is a mad magazine writer. Amazingly, he has appeared in every issue since 1966. isteve
It would be my guess that everyone that has ever been a ZDnet, techTV watcher knows about Leo and his podcast network. Beside the Twitcast I also watch GeekBrief, Mahalo Daily and Cranky Geeks. Also if your a Mac nut check out MacOS Ken daily podcast.
