What Problems To Expect

Recommended Posts

Have you tried to boot into Safe Mode? (Or can't you get that far?)

It's quite likely there are a few drivers (that need replacing) triggering the reboot cycle.

Try doing a Repair install with your XP CD.

This may allow it to replace the drivers that might be missing or wrong, without requiring you to reinstall all your applications and reloading your data from backups.

But typically, a major hardware change prefers a clean reinstall.

I get to Windows: Your machine crapped out and I don't know what to do.

Please choose:

Safe Mode

Safe Mode with networking

blah blah blah

last known good config

normal boot.

None work.

I have HDD in my machine doing a A\V scan then RAR'ing files to my HDD so then can be saved. Then I will reinstall XP.

I Found that you cannot get XP bootdisks from M$. Bill is not supporting floppy installs. Now I have to dig out my floppys from storage incase I can't boot from CD.

Happy HO HO to all.

I am sorry that you are having computer problems.

I sure hope whatever you do to fix it, works out with minimal problems. Good luck.

In spite of all that, I hope you are having a really good Christmas, and will have a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year.

P.S. I just did a Clusty search for the reboot loop problem, maybe there is an answer in the results.

Clusty search results

God bless everyone.
