Nebuchadnezzar
I'm trying to do a fresh install on a HP Pavilion - I have run FDISK and deleted and recreated (and formatted) the hard drive. But every time I boot to the CD and try and install I get the message "Line 2910 of the INF file \i386\txtsetup.sif is invalid Setup cannot continue"Any idea as to why this is happening?I know the CD id good - I just finished using it for another install. tenmm
Is the cd a full version or a H.P. recovery disk.If full put it in a drive and reboot. If recovery did it come with the PC you just finnished??Could be you deleted the part you needed on the hard drive. Nebuchadnezzar
Full version Win XP w/SP2 - however - the message comes up when booting to CD - it gets to checking system configuration - and then the massage pops up - and nothing else happens. martymas
it maybe that you have compressed files .and to get access to them you need install floppys .with xp you need to go to bootdisk.com or wherever.and down load six xp floppy disks.what xp do you have [home or pro] make sure you down load the right sys disks.and number them from 1 to six.set your first boot to floppy in your bios.and it will instruct you to insert them from one to six.then follow the screens.this is how i install my sys. good luck marty
