Double_D_Edd
Hello everyone,I have been experiencing quite a bit of pop ups today while surfing the web. I was fine till last night, and when I got on today, I get popups from things like SystemDoctor, Drivescanner, and other similar stuff. Basically, its just stuff that I never got till today. I have two internet browsers - Firefox and IE. I never have any kind of junk on my laptop since I use it for work, so I just don't know how this happened. Here's my HijackThis log:Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA)Scan saved at 11:07:51 AM, on 7/12/2007Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)Boot mode: NormalRunning processes:C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccSvcHst.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\AppCore\AppSvc32.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exeC:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate\ALUSchedulerSvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXEC:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exeC:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMAgent.exeC:\Program Files\Pure Networks\Network Magic\nmsrvc.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exeC:\Program Files\Analog Devices\SoundMAX\SMax4PNP.exeC:\WINDOWS\AGRSMMSG.exeC:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Apoint.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\hkcmd.exeC:\Program Files\HPQ\Quick Launch Buttons\EabServr.exeC:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0\bin\jusched.exeC:\Program Files\Pure Networks\Network Magic\nmapp.exeC:\Program Files\Apoint2K\Apntex.exeC:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exeC:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exeC:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exeC:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exeC:\Program Files\Spybot - sari
Double_D_Edd,Hi, and welcome to the Besttechie forums. It looks like you've caught a case of Vundo, so let's get you cleaned up.Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.Click the Scan for Vundo button.Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YESOnce you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo. When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot. Thanks, sari Edited July 12, 2007 by sari
Double_D_Edd
Oh, sorry about this. My hard drive went corrupt and had to purchase a new one. I gave the old one for data recovery, but clearly, I am fine now. Thanks for helping and sorry for the trouble.Edd.
